Your Missionaries to Lima, Peru

I have felt the call of the Lord since before my college days.  After I graduated from
Tennessee Temple University, I tried to ignore the call and went back to Ohio and
taught in a Christian School.  After a few years of that, my older brother Terry Spears
Sr., who was a missionary in the Philippines invited me to see the mission field over
there and also to teach his children.  Since I was single, I agreed and went and there
and  I met my brother's piano player, now my wife, Rebekah.  We have 4 children,
Rodney II who is now married to his wonderful wife Angela, Reyna who gave us our
first grandson, Gregory;  Rowana and Ryan who is with us now in Peru.  The first
three were with us on our first term in Cajamarca, Peru for almost 4 years.

When I finally surrendered to the call of God to go to the mission field, I asked the
Lord for guidance where to go.  I knew it would be a Spanish speaking country
because God has kept me in that language proficiently enough that I did not have to
go to a language school.  It was at that same time that I read Bro. Paul Mulling's
Prayer Letter at our church asking to pray for another Laborer who would be willing
to come to Peru.  I considered that as God's answer and I and my wife started to
earnestly pray for our preparation to go.

We are now on our second term and are working in San Juan de Lurigancho which is
one of the biggest district of
Lima.  We have started a mission and is renting a place
where we hold our services.  Our regular attendance runs from the 50-70's.  We
need to purchase a land very soon because the available properties and lots are
being sold as people are starting to populate our area.  If we wait too long, we have
to move our work farther up and away from our people and that would not be the
best situation.  Please pray for this need.
