Dear Brethren,

Greetings to you all once again.  We trust you are doing well.  We continue to thank the Lord for his blessings to us
and His provision.  Thank you for your part in the work here.  We would like to extend a very special thank you to
Johnstown Baptist church in Ohio that sent a very generous love offering of $1,000.  Thank you so much, dear ones,
and praise the Lord for His watch care over us.

I would ask you to pray for Reneirio Delgado and his common law wife.  He is the fellow that I was visiting in jail on
Sundays.  He is now out.  We are praying for his spiritual growth, the future marriage of him and his common law wife
and her spiritual growth as well.  She professed Christ as her Savior some time ago, but we haven´t really seen any
fruits.  Reneirio was in jail for 15 months.  He was a public bus driver.  One day in a traffic jam, a child´s balloon went
under the bus.  The child went under it to get his balloon.  Finally it was time for the traffic to advance.  Reneirio went
forward, not knowing a child was underneath the bus.  He ran over the child and for this was put in jail.  As I said, they
let him out of jail, but now another branch of the "law" says he didn't do enough time and is planning to send him back
for 17 more months.  Prya for this young man and this situation.  The laws here in Peru in many cases lack any sense
whatsoever of consistency and logic.

The mission work is going along well.  Our attendance has been consistently in the 60's and sometimes 70's on
Sunday morning.  Since many of the children don't come back on Sunday night, we usually have 35-40 in attendance.
They are consistent and faithful for the most part and seem to exhibit an eagerness to grow and to do more for the
Lord.  We have a baptism coming up in Ocotober.  Since we don't have a baptistery yet, we are awaiting warm
weather and for the pools to fill up.  We could drive 1 1/2 - 2 hours to baptize if there were no other choice, but then
most of our people wouldn't be able to go.  We are awaiting for the warmer weather and the local pools to once again
be in business.

I just got back from Oxampampa, Peru, the most beautiful part of Peru I have seen so far.  A Peruvian missionary
pastor, Carlos Gonzalez went there with his cancer-ridden wife to start a work.  The day before the meeting was to
start, the wife died.  Naturally, I got there to a grief stricken dad and his 5 children.  The lady was only 48, same age
as her husband.  The Lord used us to be a blessing during this time.  On Sunday nights, finishing the meetings, the
pastor told how thankful he was that I had come and what a blessing the meetings were during their time of grief.
Many people came forward during the meetings, but what blessed my heart most was to be able to be there at this
time and be of comfort to the family.  PRAY FOR THEM.  THEY ARE IN MUCH NEED OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT.  THEY
ARE LITERALLY SUFFERING THERE TO BE IN THE LORD'S WORK.

Keep us before the throne in prayer.  We anxiously await visitors from our home church and our 3rd anniversary of
the mission work here.  Pray for our continued growth.

Your Servants,

Rodney, Rebekah and Ryan Spears
